Negros in America got some scars that they never healed from, 400 years of slavery, and slave owners in the plantations were no saints. At that period of time, that was anarchy, around 1600's 1700's and beyond slave owner were exempt from any moral or ethical obligation toward their slaves, so basically if you own Negroes, that means literally you own them, and that include women and kids, men too being used but that was taboo, at the opposite a male slave owner can use its ownership in any way he feels right or alright.
