Paula Deen and Al Sharpton: Time for a conversation on race

Racism is poison. So are fake accusations of racism. So are double standards that mete out different punishments based on race, and so is injecting race into irrelevant situations.

An example of race injected as a toxin is the case of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. The media are covering this case because these two men were of different races. Two men fought, and one was killed. That happens frequently with zero racial role. An honest conversation asks why black children in Chicago and Detroit fear gunshots from other blacks while walking to school. That matters more than some street fight.

Star prosecution witness Rachel Jeantel quoted Martin referring to Zimmerman as a “creepy-ass cracker.” Unless that is a new product offered by Ritz, this was a racist comment. The prosecutor trying to rehabilitate the images of Martin and Jeantel actually inferred that such language was normal in their culture. What culture? Was he implying black people are incapable of civilized conversation about other races?

The double standard toxin involves Paula Deen and Al Sharpton. Deen is a chef with no political role who made racist comments decades ago. Sharpton made public racist and anti-Semitic comments and started race riots that left people dead. From Tawana Brawley to today, he persists. Deen is a white Southerner being flayed in the town square. Sharpton is a black liberal who was rewarded with an MSNBC contract.

Sharpton has actually stood up and defended Deen. Good for him, but Deen is being held accountable, and Sharpton never was.

The evidence toxin is self-explanatory. Deen and Sharpton were caught.

For conservatives with a platform, being targeted by leftists is routine. Accusing conservatives of racism is meant to bully, harass, silence, and intimidate them from the political process. Think of it as IRS abuses, although more destructive.

Sometimes those claiming double-standards are making excuses rather than honestly assessing problems. Black leaders have long complained that jail sentences for crack are longer than those for powder cocaine. Crack is seen, rightly or wrongly, as a drug for poor inner city black people. Powder cocaine is seen as the drug for wealthy whites. Law enforcement has insisted that crack is far deadlier, and therefore requires stiffer sentences. Yet those denying reality blame racism.

Seventy percent of black children are born out of wedlock. Somehow this destruction of black families is seen as less problematic than pointing it out and trying to fix it. Compassion allows the cycle of hopelessness to continue, while those trying to break the cycle are labeled racists.

Many leftists accuse conservatives of racism without citing examples. Further probing reflects that this racism is defined as conservatism. Anybody attending tea parties or watching Fox News automatically becomes racists. Somehow Occupy Wall Street people and MSNBC viewers escape these charges.

Democrats were the party of slavery. Democrats elected Senator Robert Byrd, a Kleagle in the Ku Klux Klan, as their Majority Leader. Yet Republicans are called racists for wanting tax cuts, welfare reform, and other policies that will actually strengthen black communities devastated by the liberal Great Society.

Policies. That is the key word. That is what political discussions should be about. Everything else is a distraction. Conservatives are routinely called racists for disagreeing with President Obama’s policies. Any honest assessment would reflect that conservatives see Obama as no different from George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry, and Joe Biden. In the same vein, criticism of Attorney General Eric Holder is based on his many misdeeds, not his skin color. Any liberals refusing to admit this are unworthy of being part of any political discussion.

To make matters worse, black conservatives from Michael Steele to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas are treated with a venom no human being should ever have to face.

Stopping real racism and all of its poisonous offshoots is very simple. Those engaging in it need to stop doing it. Bystanders need to call out those who do it. Those falsely accused must never back down in the face of scurrilous allegations.

Real dialogue occurs when both sides are allowed to speak. The left too often denies conservatives that right. That is one reason why racial animosity exists in this country today.

Black privilege: How white double standards destroy black communities

HOUSTON, November, 23, 2013 — Fifty years ago last August, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered one of the most memorable speeches of modern history. “I have a dream,” he said, “that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

King will forever remain one of the most courageous and visionary Americans to have ever lived, but it is truly unfortunate that his vision of a colorblind, race-neutral society is no longer the goal of the black community or of white liberal elites.

King campaigned for and won the right of black men and women to be treated fairly and equally under the law. Today, however, he would not recognize the state of the black community and the racial lens through which many blacks view each and every situation. The following interaction from a recent cable news show acts as a perfect example.

On MSNBC this Wednesday, the “Martin Bashir Live” show featured guests Matt Lewis of the Daily Caller and Professor Michael Eric Dyson. They discussed Oprah Winfrey going around the world and making comments like this to the BBC: “There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because [President Obama is] African American. There’s no question about that and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it.”

Dyson, a black man, interrupted Lewis, a white man, which led to a minute or so of confusing cross-talk. Dyson then loudly professed that Lewis was “deploy(ing) the very principles of white privilege to silence a black man on the panel because you don’t want to talk about race.“ Almost immediately following this exchange the host, Martin Bashir, took Dyson’s bait, and not wanting to be deemed a racist, deployed the very principle of black privilege to silence the white man, and allowed Dyson to finish his monologue.

Using the color of your skin to shut down your political opponent is the essence of what King fought against, yet now many blacks, and their condescending white, liberal allies, commonly do just that.

If America at large, and the black community in particular, is to succeed and prosper, blacks must not be made to feel as if they need and deserve special accommodations. White liberals have done extensive psychological damage to blacks by sending the message, through both government sanctioned affirmative action policies and cultural political correctness, that black people cannot compete at the same level as the rest of America.

To solve this illusory problem, white liberals make feeding, housing and clothing their black clients a government priority. They genuinely believe that blacks cannot do these things for themselves. This belief is contrary to history and to the facts, and has caused severe damage to the black community. It is time to recognize that another liberal idea with good intentions is greatly hurting the very people it is intended to help.

There is plenty of evidence that blacks can be extremely successful if government sanctioned racism is avoided. In the two industries where affirmative action is not applied — professional sports and entertainment — the percentage of black Americans is greater than their share of the overall population. In the two industries where a truly free market still exists, blacks are disproportionately successful.

There is no reason to believe that blacks would not be just as successful in other industries, if systemic and government sanctioned racism were removed from the equation. The facts, numbers and statistics that support the argument that race-based government and social policies are damaging to blacks are clear and are available here.

Conservatives believe that all men are equal in the eyes of their creator and under the law. Therefore, any law that treats anyone differently based upon skin color must be repealed, if we are to honor the legacy of Dr. King, as well as that of the founders.

Affirmative action is only one tool that white, liberal elites have used to force the black community into dependency. Teachers’ unions have destroyed education in lower income areas and put many black children at a huge educational disadvantage from the earliest grades. Minimum wage laws have guaranteed that individuals with less education will not be offered jobs they otherwise would have and will not develop marketable skills.

Welfare programs have sapped the spirit and destroyed the soul of many blacks who would otherwise be valuable contributing members of society. This trifecta of liberal ideas, intended to create dependency upon the federal government, have done just that. All three must be gradually replaced with policies that empower the individual.

Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, the only black person on the Court, directly and succinctly articulated the best argument against treating people differently based on skin color earlier this year. In his opinion in a case concerning affirmative action policies at a university he wrote, “Slaveholders argued that slavery was a ‘positive good’ that civilized blacks and elevated them in every dimension of life, a century later, segregationists similarly asserted that segregation was not only benign, but good for black students.”

He went on, “Following in these inauspicious footsteps, the University would have us believe that its discrimination is likewise benign. I think the lesson of history is clear enough: Racial discrimination is never benign.” He added, “The University’s professed good intentions cannot excuse its outright racial discrimination any more than such intentions justified the now-denounced arguments of slaveholders and segregationists.”

Facts and history are stubborn things; unfortunately, white, liberal elites are even more stubborn. They want and need the votes of the black community, and will do everything possible to keep blacks on what former U.S. Rep. Lt. Col. Allen West has repeatedly referred to as “the 21st century liberal plantation.” If white, liberal elites have their way, blacks will be completely dependent on the state, unless and until they rise up and demand to be treated equally, following in the giant footsteps of the great Dr. King.

Same way as they are used to use physical violence to get what they want in their normal natural animal instincts based behavior of survival in a modern society.

Often arrogance is linked to the desire of Negroes to express their achievement in the field of civil rights. and how they passed from a segregation era as the marginal social class to Blacks as we see them roaming around out of control, abusing everybody civil rights to feel some compensation and dignity about the exclusion of their ancestors. Negroes feel so down that they feel the need of using the race card all the time, somewhere in their subconsciousness the scare of the segregation era is stored and every action even though innocent may be perceived as discriminatory and racist, they go even to offend others just to feel equal, must say the scare of the segregation era is stuck in their mind.

A distinction is to be made between different kinds of Negroes, despite that the evolutionary stage they reached is the same, and the bio-intellectual capacities are quasi identique, a difference has been noticed in the development of the Negroes depending on the socio-economic milieu they are interacting with, the constraints they are faced with, and the degree of adaptability and as a consequence, reaction to the milieu host.

American Negro is different from Jamaican Negro, the Haitian Negro, the African negro, The Dominican Negros and the Caribbean Negro, when it comes to issues affecting the Black race the American Negro and the Jamaican Negros as well as the African Negros express the same reaction and defensive attitude, they may try to improve the image of one kind of Negros at the depend of the other aiming to partially improve their image, but the overall issues affecting the Black race don’t make distinction between Negros except their accent.

American Negroes are known to have the lowest IQ, followed by the Jamaican and Caribbean then the African Negros, it is related to slavery and the state of mind of slaves passed on through generations, created an form of mental laziness among slave descendant contributing in the development of heir lower IQ, naturally the milieu providing the max of free shit cause the more damages to Negros mental abilities.

Race aside, I honestly think that most or a large chunk of dominicans (compare to other latin americans) suffer from a cultural inferiority complex. For example, on the dominicantoday forum I've read many comments where Dominicans often try their hardest to associate themselves with other caribbean countries, I've heard some dominicans on there say:

"Some Venezuelans are more of my paisanos than people from the coasts"

"We cibaenos are basically puerto ricans who speak with la i"

"should cuba, DR and Puerto Rico be one country?"

Among many other comments. I've been on a Puerto Rican forum, and absolutely noone was desperate to associate themself with another nationality by saying ridiculous things like:

"We from the Cordillera Central are Cubans who eat mofongo" or "Some Coastal Colombians are more of my paisanos than the people of Loiza"

And not a single person is interested in any sort of unification, only Dominicans. Dominicans like to believe that the rest of the hispanic caribbean is a carbon copy of them while Puerto Ricans and Cubans are willing to tell you how distinct they are to the point that they may even resort to making fun of Dominicans/other caribbean hispanics

Too many Dominicans seem so uninterested in their culture, they don't even support their own artists. They'd much rather see Marc Anthony or Gilberto Santorosa live than say, Fernando Villalona. Puerto Ricans support their artists to the max, which is why you see more of those lame Puerto Rican MERENGUEROS than DOMINICAN ones performing on channels like Univision and winning all of the merengue awards. The vast majority of Dominican artists are either forced to perform in cheap restaurants or move to neighboring countries to gain fame. Why is it that our legends like Fernando Villalona, Johnny Ventura, Anthony Santos, Alex Bueno etc. are hardly known in Latin America let alone the rest of the Caribbean region? Because Dominicans only want to support Puerto Rican clowns.

IT's the truth. I think many Dominicans are desperate to prove that they're more similar to cubans and puerto ricans than to haitians, which is why too many of them ALWAYS have to remind people of it. I have never seen a "should the Hispanic Caribbean be one country" thread on a puerto rican or cuban forum, never. But I've seen many on both Dominicantoday and DR1. They also have to make it a point to prove how much people around the world like their music by saying "Colombians/Panamanians/Puerto Ricans/etc. love merengue" but comments like these are never made by non-Dominican latinos about their respective music, they're just proud of it.

The prostitutes, who were recruited from brothels across the country, will travel to Santo Domingo during the trial's first seven months to receive three injections. They must return for regular follow-ups during the study's four-year period. The study pays for the women's meals and transportation, and it provides them with $30 for a lost day's wages. In addition to health training, an occasional gift bag of cosmetics is given to keep the women from losing interest.

The HIV strain found in the eight Merck vaccine trial sites is the same one common in Europe. A new trial in South Africa will determine whether the vaccine candidate is effective on African strains. The Merck trial is one of 17 being sponsored by the Seattle-based HIV Vaccine Trials Network, which is supported by the US government.

My mother is a duane reade manager and she is always telling me how she fires the prettiest girls, she calls them sluts and shit. but when i see them and try to talk to them- they seem very nice. i went out with one she fired and she was the most decent girl i ever met, she was indian and pretty as hell. she goes to school, she has a make up artist certificate degree from mac cosmestic company. she cuts my nappy ass hair perfect! and her parents oddly lets me come over for dinner. yeah i bought her a coach watch cause she was a better girlfriend than my dominican ex. she was cheating on me with a puerto rican- mind the fact she hates puerto rican men, ironic huh? my mom i realize is a true dominican woman, she is jealous of pretty woman and any girl that has a nice body and wears fitted clothes is a slut.

now my brother who is 34 years old has been in prison since he was 27. he sold ounces of weed, he got a restraining order from his girlfriend for beating her- and he would cheat on her all the time. my brother at one point caught an std! my brother would never work and even though he was a drug dealer making tax free money- he would steal my dad and my money as well! he was the reason we got a lock box.

my father ain't no better either. he tells my mom that he is not into sex no more, but he is a good looking man. i got a hold of his cell phone a couple times and some young sounding females would call him talking very sweetly. when i say "this is his son" they hung up very fast! everytime he got a "serious" business call he would leave the house and be walking down the block.

im embarassed my my dominican race- they rob indians and white people all the time, they beat up mexicans, they talk shit about puerto ricans, they tag team with colombians to sell drugs, they are racist towards black people, they are cheaters and beaters as well as users. and dominicans are mostly like this and thats not fair for me who is a good guy cause i'm nothing like my family. oh! i'm also the only one who got his education and i'm not ignorant or homophobic or sexist.

This speech was delivered by Willie Lynch on the bank of the James River in the colony of Virginia in 1712। Lynch was a British slave owner in the West Indies He was invited to the colony of Virginia in 1712 to teach his methods to slave owners there. The term "lynching" is derived from his last name.
It was the interest and business of slave holders to study human nature, and the slave nature in particular, with a view to practical results. I and many of them attained astonishing proficiency in this direction. They had to deal not with earth, wood and stone, but with men and by every regard they had for their own safety and prosperity they needed to know the material on which they were to work. Conscious of the injustice and wrong they were every hour perpetuating and knowing what they themselves would do. Were they the victims of such wrongs? They were constantly looking for the first signs of the dreaded retribution. They watched, therefore with skilled and practiced eyes, and learned to read with great accuracy, the state of mind and heart of the slave, through his sable face. Unusual sobriety, apparent abstractions, sullenness and indifference indeed, any mood out of the common was afforded ground for suspicion and inquiry.
